One of the easiest ways to make a room look polished is to hang wall art at the right height. As a general rule, the center of the artwork should sit around 57–60 inches (145–152 cm) from the floor, which keeps it close to average eye level.
When hanging art above a sofa, console table, or bed, don’t use the floor as your only reference. Instead, keep the artwork visually connected to the furniture below it. Leave roughly 6–10 inches (15–25 cm) of space between the bottom of the frame and the furniture for a balanced look.
If you’re creating a gallery wall, treat the entire collection as one large artwork and position its overall center around eye level.
Quick rule: Hang art low enough to feel connected to the furniture, but high enough that it doesn’t look crowded.
